 Ukraine/Siberian Humanitarian Update #5- 2007

Thursday June 7th 2007 we shipped 12 big boxes of Humanitarian Aid to the Believers and Orphans at Donets’k Ukraine. On the same day - June 7th we shipped 2 boxes of children’s clothing to the Believers in Shushenskoye Siberia.

We have received ‘much’ used clothing from the believers in our local area and also from the believers in Edmonton Alberta. The ‘Lost and Found’ articles being donated from our local schools will give us more than enough to ship over the summer and into the fall.

The June shipment managed to be off before I leave for Siberia and the next one will be sent some time mid July – God willing.

While in Siberia, it is my intention to visit as many of the people who receive these goods first hand and assess whether the project should be fine-tuned or possibly expanded. In the very least I hope to establish some form of communication so reporting is much more consistent.

Ukraine/Siberian Humanitarian Update #4- 2007

Saturday May 19th 2007 we shipped 15 boxes of Humanitarian Aid to the Believers at Donets’k Ukraine. On May 17th we shipped 6 boxes to the Believers in Alushta Ukraine. We also shipped 2 boxes of children’s clothing to the Believers in Irkutsk Siberia and 4 boxes to the Orphanage in Shushenskoye Siberia.

We continue to receive used clothing from the believers in our local area and also more from the believers in Edmonton Alberta. Along with the ‘Lost and Found’ articles being donated from our local schools we will have enough to ship over the summer.

I received some photos of the boxes received in Donets’k that bore the dates of last October and November. These boxes of clothes were made available for people who had gathered from all over the Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and other former Soviet Union countries for special meetings just a few short weeks ago.

These clothes and other donated items we have shipped are a great blessing to those who receive them. Your physical and financial donations are an integral part of making this project continue to be that blessing.

I will endeavor to make the June shipment in a couple of weeks (June 2nd) in hopes to have it off before I travel to Siberia. While in Siberia I will be visiting the people who receive these goods first hand and will assess what the project should be doing in relation to ‘fine tuning’ or possible expansion.

Ukraine/Siberian Humanitarian Update #2 - 2007

Greetings.

Friday March 9th 2007 we shipped another 15 boxes of Humanitarian Aid to the Believers and 5 boxes to the Orphans at Donets’k Ukraine. We then shipped (through our second agency) an additional 3 boxes to the Believers in Alushta Ukraine including children’s cloths and 3 boxes of Humanitarian aid to the Believers in Irkutsk and 2 boxes to the Orphanage in Shushenskoye Siberia.

We are grateful to all those who have donated the funding that will keep us shipping for the next few months. We are once again accepting clothes at the local church level with the encouragement for the donor to consider donating the funding to ship the items they have donated also. It currently takes about $12 – $14 USD (per 40 Lb box) to ship to the Ukraine and at least 3 times that much to ship the same box to Siberia.

I want to give you a look at one of our very special Volunteer families that are working with us packing these clothes. It is through their dedication (along with the others I will show you next update) that make the shipping of these clothes possible.

Without the dedicated effort of these very important people there would be no project.

These are some of the unseen (until now) people who “get the work done” by hauling donated clothing to the warehouse and then sorting and packing the goods into the boxes to be shipped. Their volunteer time and effort has been the backbone of our success by having everything ‘ready to go’ each and every month.

Of course I also wish to extend a “Thank you very much” to all of you that have helped us deliver this response to the people of Russia and the Ukraine. It also takes your physical and financial donations to make all this work to get these items to those who are in need of these resources.

The best way to donate funding for this project is by forward it to our Mailing address. Send your donations by check or money order, payable to "Men Of Vision", via standard US or Canadian Mail at:

'One time' or 'from time to time' donations are always welcome, and have been much appreciated, however, we would encourage regular donations on a monthly basis for our budgeting purposes.  Even small amounts, given on a consistent basis, combine to make an incredible difference -  a difference that I have seen first hand.

Men of Visions entire process depends completely on the physical and financial donations of like-minded people such as yourself, who volunteer their efforts wherever the opportunity presents itself, fulfilling the spirit of Galatians 6:10.
